Showcase Piauí promotes the state to the tourism trade in Lisbon

The initiative includes fam trips, business meetings and strategic presence at BTL to strengthen the state’s tourism within the European market

In March 2025, VBRATA – Visit Brazil Travel Association – successfully held another edition of the Showcase Piauí, this time in Lisbon, aiming to promote the state as a distinctive tourist destination full of potential for the European market.

The schedule included two important immersion initiatives: a fam trip to Serra da Capivara and a fam tour along the coast of Piauí. Each experience brought together five representatives from Portuguese tour operators, who had the opportunity to explore the region’s attractions, infrastructure, and itinerary possibilities up close. Experiencing the destination is essential to ensure professionals are better equipped to sell packages with greater knowledge and confidence.

The highlight of the initiative was the Showcase Piauí event, held on 11 March at the Epic Sana Hotel in Lisbon, just before the start of BTL – Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa. Targeted at Portuguese travel agents and tour operators, the event brought together official tourism representatives from Piauí for an afternoon of connection and learning. The programme included a destination presentation, a business roundtable with operators, and a cocktail reception featuring typical food and drinks, offering attendees an authentic cultural experience.

Piauí’s participation extended to BTL, with a dedicated stand at the fair. VBRATA was responsible for the concept, set-up, and support of the stand, helping to give the destination greater visibility and strengthen its relationship with the European trade. In addition, there was widespread promotion on VBRATA and Showcase Piauí’s social media, as well as an outdoor advertising campaign with banners displayed on Lisbon’s main roads and at the airport.
